Dinesh Kumar Khara appointed as MD of State Bank of India


The Department of Personnel and Training of State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the appointment of Mr. Dinesh Kumar Khara as its Managing Director (MD). His appointment has been done by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) for a period of three years, extendable by two years after the review of his performance. Presently he is working as MD and Chief Executive Officer of SBI Funds Management Pvt Ltd.

The State Bank of India is an Indian multinational, public sector banking and financial services company. It is a government-owned corporation, headquarter in Mumbai, Maharastra. SBI has more than 14,000 branches, including 191 foreign offices spread across 36 countries, making it the largest banking and financial services company in India by assets. The company is ranked 232nd on the Fortune Global 500 list of the world's biggest corporations as of 2016. It is one of the Big Four banks of India, along with ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda and Punjab National Bank.
